Dr. S. Amal Hussnain is a board-certified ophthalmologist specializing in advanced retina care. He performs surgery for various conditions, such as macular holes, epiretinal membranes, and retinal detachments.
Additionally, he treats medical disorders of the retina, such as age-related macular degeneration, diabetic retinopathy, and vein occlusions.
Dr. Hussnain graduated summa cum laude with Bachelor of Science in Biochemistry from Union College and then completed medical school from Weill Cornell Medical College. He completed his ophthalmology residency at Yale University.
He then went on to complete a two-year Vitreous and Retina Surgery Fellowship at Columbia University, Vitreous Retina Macula Consultants at New York, Manhattan Eye, Ear and Throat Hospital, and New York University.
He has presented at national meetings and published numerous peer-reviewed articles. Dr. Hussnain is a member of the American Academy of Ophthalmology, the American Society of Retina Specialists, and the Association of Research in Vision and Ophthalmology.
