Dr. Gregory Krohel is a board-certified ophthalmologist specializing in neuro-ophthalmological and oculoplastic care. He completed medical school and his residency at Albany Medical Center.
Dr. Krohel has further training in orbital disease and oculoplastic surgery from Moorefield's Eye Hospital in London, England, and neuro-ophthalmology at the Stein Eye Institute at UCLA.
Dr. Krohel has published over 185 scientific papers, authored a book on Orbital Disease, and has been a visiting professor on over 70 occasions.
He has received multiple research awards, including the
- American Academy of Ophthalmology Medal of Honor Award for Distinguished Service in 1985
- Teacher of the Year award from the Albany Medical College Resident Program in 1997
Dr. Krohel's areas of particular interest include Plaquenil screening and management and geriatric ophthalmology.
