Dr. Jeffrey Tomas Paul is a highly accomplished ophthalmologist with a wealth of experience and knowledge in the field of ophthalmology. Dr. Paul obtained his Bachelor of Science in Biology from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute in Troy, New York, in 1982. He then received his Medical Doctor degree from Albany Medical College of Union University, Albany, New York.
Dr. Paul completed his Internship in Internal Medicine at Albany Medical Center Hospital, Albany, New York, from June 1982 to June 1983. He then completed his Residency in Ophthalmology at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics, Iowa City, Iowa followed by an Associateship in Ophthalmology at the same hospital.
Throughout his career, Dr. Paul has engaged in extensive research activities. He won various honors and awards, including the Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute Medal for Achievement in Mathematics and Science in 1975, the Arthur C. Knudson Prize for biochemistry, and the Albany Medical College Trustees Prize for pharmacology and microbiology in 1980.
In addition, Dr. Paul excelled in his OKAP Exam and the Written Qualifying Exam for the American Board of Ophthalmology in 1987. Dr. Paul's special professional interests include medical retinal diseases, fluorescein angiography and laser therapy, corneal disease and transplantation, and pediatric ophthalmology and strabismus.
